The present invention addresses the problem of providing a tool holder capable of supplying coolant from a lateral flank surface side of a cutting tip towards a cutting blade, without providing a protrusion on the lateral flank surface side of the tool holder as per the prior art. In order to address said problem: a recessed surface section (123) is formed in a prescribed range (L1) from the tip (103) towards the rear end, in a shape relatively recessed towards a lateral flank surface (120b) of a site (122) further towards the rear than the prescribed range, in the lateral flank surface (120) of a tip section (102) of a holder (100) itself; and a discharge port (150) for coolant is provided to the rear in the recessed surface section (123), in an arc surface section (tip-facing surface) (125) forming an arc shape as viewed from a rake surface (105) side, said discharge port opening at the tip-facing surface. As a result, supply of coolant on the lateral flank surface side is ensured and cutting can be performed at a position closer to a chuck (Ck) by the amount provided as a result of the absence of a protruding section on the lateral flank surface side found in conventional holders. |
