<p>The invention relates to a method for measuring by means of a three-dimensional measurement machine (1) comprising a measurement head (9) including a laser emitter (16) for emitting an incident laser beam toward the part to be measured, and an image sensor (17) for detecting a laser beam reflected by the part. The method includes a phase of positioning the measurement head relative to the part to be measured, comprising the following steps: supplying at least one indicator representing the position of the incident laser beam on the image sensor; moving the measurement head closer to or farther from the part to be measured depending on the indicator.
