<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vector coding device and the like for coding a vector into a code capable of comparing target codes while being reflected with a distance between the codes, in order to search for a fixed number of vectors within a short distance.SOLUTION: The vector coding device includes: quantization codebook creation means for creating a quantization codebook in which a number of training vectors are clustered and, for each cluster number, a representative vector of training vectors belonging to the cluster is made correspondent; quantization means that uses quantization codebook storage means to output a cluster number corresponding to an inputted target vector; coding codebook creation means for creating a coding codebook in which a "code" is made correspondent so as to retain an order of closeness of different two training vectors for each cluster number; and coding means which refers to coding codebook storage means to output a "code" corresponding to the cluster number outputted from the quantization means.</p> |
