<p>The present invention relates to an active arrester with a power source protection function. The arrester according to the present invention comprises: a surge metal oxide varistor (MOV) which is installed inside a case and connected in series with a power line to primarily reduce a high energy surge and a noise; an input protection unit which detects a power line-neutral line overvoltage and an erroneous connection between a neutral line and a ground line; a control logic unit which disconnects a relay supplying power to protect a piece of load equipment when power is defective due to the overvoltage or the erroneous connection; a blocking inductor which absorbs a high impedance surge and a noise; and a shunt abserver which secondarily protects against a micro-noise and the overvoltage. Thus, according to the present invention, lightning and transient spike voltages as well as an electro-magnetic interference noise can be reduced, a source AC input overvoltage can be prevented, erroneous connections between source lines (line-neutral, neutral-ground) can be prevented, and the load equipment can be securely protected from a common mode noise and a surge.</p> |
