This imaging device (1) is provided with an imaging unit (10) which images a subject and generates image data of the subject, a display unit (31) which can display an image corresponding to the image data generated by the imaging unit (10), and a display control unit (156) which, when taking a photograph of the subject with the imaging unit (10), displays on a display unit a sample image in which at least the line of sight of the subject has been changed, wherein the imaging direction of the imaging unit (10) and the display direction of the display unit (31) coincide.
