[Also in Division B3] Hoe blades are made by cutting blanks 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, Fig 11a, each consisting of a blade portion 1a and socket portion 1b from a metal strip P and working them to finished shape, Fig. 16, in a single heating. The socket portion 1b is first pressed into cup shape and then pierced, Figs. 13, 14 (not shown) and the blade portion rolled in its longitudinal direction, Fig. 15 (not shown). Finally the blade is cut to final shape, curved, ground and polished. |
