<p>The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric material. The method includes the steps of: preparing powder of Mg_2Si and Mg_2Ge raw materials; mixing the powder of the raw materials at a nonstoicheiometric composition ratio; and synthesizing Mg_2Si and Mg_2Ge in a solid phase by making the mixed power of the raw material react in a solid phase by heat treatment. Mg_2Si and Mg_2Ge, synthesized in the step of solid-phase synthesis, are mixed in a solid solution phase. The thermoelectric material is obtained by mixing Mg_2Si and Mg_2Ge in a solid solution phase and thus can increase thermoelectric performance. The thermoelectric material is produced by making the power of the raw materials in a solid phase react. According to the method of the present invention, the thermoelectric material in which Mg_2Si and Mg_2Ge are mixed in a solid solution phase can be manufactured by only a process of making the powder of the raw materials react in a solid phase. Therefore, the thermoelectric material with increased performance can be manufactured at low costs.</p> |
