<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further strengthen, in a heat exchanger core in which a number of flat tubes 1 are paralleled, opposite ends of the same are inserted in a pair of header plates 4 and the inserted parts are fixed by brazing, a structure for reinforcing the header plate insertion portions of the flat tubes 1. <P>SOLUTION: A metal plate of a plate thickness matching the minor diameter of the opening of the flat tube 1 is bent into a reinforcing member 5. The reinforcing member 5 includes at least one pair of insertion parts 9 at the opposite ends of an elongate connection 6, and each of the insertion parts 9 has a convex surface 5a on its edge side face.
