<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable correct alignment between a platen roller and a thermal head in a thermal printer apparatus of a constitution in which the platen roller moves to come into press contact with the thermal head. <P>SOLUTION: A positioning member 16 having a flat part which extends in parallel to a press contact direction to the thermal head 11 of the platen roller 3 is fixed to the thermal head 11. A conveying mechanism of the platen roller 3 includes: a first supporting member 7 which moves the platen roller 3 in a lateral direction; and a second supporting member 8 which biases the platen roller 3 to the positioning member 16.
