Mullion bars 1 of a glazing &c. structure are provided with apertures 16 on one or both sides into which the tongues 17 of auxiliary bars are inserted, the tongues being maintained in position by a keeper plate 20 which slides in grooves 13 of the mullion bar and is provided with projections 30 which engage grooves 19 in the tongues 17 and is itself held in place by a channel section cap 31. The keeper 20 and cap 31 are provided with drainage channels and a separate flashing strip 61 of rubber, p.v.c. or metal is applied to the auxiliary bar to assist drainage and to support the glazing panels 5. Grooves 5, 39, 66 are lined with cords 14, 44, 67 on which are seated the glazing panels. Clips 55 on the mullion bars retain the glazing panels in place and support a channel section cover strip 6. Channel section cover strips 7 are assembled along the auxiliary bars by engagement with resilient clips 73 attached to the web 41 by screws. A modification of the mullion bar is used at the corners of the glazing structure (Fig. 11). A further modification (Fig. 14, not shown) of the mullion bar 1 is provided with a longitudinal web projecting perpendicularly to the transverse wall 11, forming two drainage channels in each of which slides a modified keeper plate. A cord-carrying plate for supporting the glazing panel is screwed to the web and itself supports a cover strip to which it is attached by claw-shaped members. |
