<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for allowing formation of foil images tough enough to have sufficient adhesive strength between a foil and a foil transfer surface when the foil is transferred on a foil transfer surface formed with toner. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is an image forming method for forming a foil transfer surface with toner having storage elastic modulus of 1.0×10<SP POS="POST">3</SP>N/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or more and 1.0×10<SP POS="POST">4</SP>N/m<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or less at 120°C, and then applying maximum pressure to the foil transfer surface during the time period after 0.6t relative to a nip part transit time t, and 1/8 or more and 1/2 or less of the maximum pressure during the time period from 0.3t to 0.5t.
