Adjusting a fiber orientation of a fibrous web (20) at carding plant, comprises: determining the fiber orientation of fibrous web and producing a first controlled variable; determining a basis weight of fibrous web in its transporting direction and producing a second controlled variable; and comparing the first- and second controlled variable with the reference variables, where at least one actuator for changing the fiber orientation and/or at least one actuator for changing the basis weight is operated by a signal during the deviations of the controlled variables from the reference variables. An independent claim is also included for a device for adjusting the fiber orientation at carding plant, comprising: a first sensing element, which generates a first controlled variable for determining the fiber orientation of a fibrous web; a second sensing element, which generates second controlled variable for determining the basis weight of the fibrous web; and a regulator, which compares the first- and second control variables to determine the current orientation and which compares the basis weight of fiber with the respective reference variables. The regulator during the deviations of the controlled variables from the reference variables, generates a signal, by which at least one actuator to the fiber orientation and/or at least one actuator to the basis weight is operated. |
