The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method capable of providing a variety of information related to a digital object, displayed through a user interface unit, more conveniently and intuitively. The present invention relates to a method for providing information in an electronic device. The method includes displaying a digital object through a user interface unit; acquiring a pointer-over input regarding the digital object; determining the properties of the pointer-over input; determining information related to the digital object based on the determined properties; and providing the determined information through the user interface unit.
