An increase in the size and cost of an electrodynamic exciter having been prevented, the minimum resonance frequency F0 of the exciter is set at a low value and the vibration characteristics of the exciter are increased. A suspension (50) for supporting a magnetic circuit unit (30) allowing displacement in the vertical direction in relation to a substantially rectangular case (40) is configured such that four flexible arms (54A, 54B) are provided for linking the magnetic circuit unit (30) and the case (40). The distal-end parts (54A1, 54B1) of the flexible arms (54A, 54B) are secured to the bottom-end surfaces (44A) of each corner (44A) on the peripheral surface wall (44) of the case (40). Also, the bottom-end surface of each side surface (44B1, 44B2) of the peripheral surface wall (44) is formed as a stepped surface (44B1a, 44B2a). Accordingly, each flexible arm (54A, 54B) is formed to extend in the same circular direction along each side surface (44B1, 44B2) below the stepped surface (44B1a, 44B2a) from the distal-end part (54A1, 54B1) of the arm. |
