PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst excelling in catalyst performance in a catalyst actual use temperature area in a reductive atmosphere and excelling in initial activity of the catalyst in an atmosphere that contains no sulfur.SOLUTION: A exhaust gas purifying catalyst 10 includes a carrier 1, and a catalyst layer 2 formed on the carrier 1. The catalyst layer 2 contains an oxide carrier mainly composed of at least one of CeO, ZrOand AlOon which Pd or Pt that is a noble metal catalyst 3 is supported, a barium compound 4, and an iron oxide-zirconia composite oxide 5. |
