<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of receiving not only non-compressed video signal but also receiving a concurrent signal with this, from an external device through an HDMI cable.SOLUTION: A receiver receives a non-compressed video signal on a differential signal from an external device via an HDMI cable by a first signal reception part. The receiver receives a signal by full duplex communication from the external device by a second reception part, by using a bidirectional communication channel configured with a reserve line and an HPD line on the HDMI cable. For example, the bidirectional communication channel is a pair of differential transmission channel, and the HPD line has a function for notifying an external device of a connection condition of own device by a DC bias potential.</p> |
