The present invention relates to an MR damper with an extendable core having a structure capable of easily increasing the number of cores generating a magnetic field to control a shearing force of a magneto-rheological (MR) fluid filled inside the MR damper. According to the present invention, the MR fluid is filled inside a housing (11), and the MR damper with an extendable core comprises: a plurality of cores (13) fixedly installed along a longitudinal direction of the housing (11) while having a space from an inner circumferential surface of the housing (11), and magnetized when power is applied; and a piston (14) movably installed along a longitudinal direction of the housing (11) inside the housing (11) and moving along the longitudinal direction of the housing (11) when an external force is applied from the center of the housing (11), and moving the MR fluid (F) between the inner circumferential surface of the housing (11) and the core (13) in a direction opposite to the moving direction.
