<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithographic printing plate precursor capable of making a lithographic printing plate having excellent development latitude and good printing durability, a lithographic printing plate obtained therefrom and a method for making the same. <P>SOLUTION: An infrared-sensitive positive lithographic printing plate precursor sequentially comprises, on a support, a lower layer containing a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin and an upper layer containing a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble or alkali-dispersible polyurethane and a heterocyclic compound represented by the following general formula (1), where at least one of the lower layer and the upper layer contains an infrared absorbent. In the general formula (1), A represents N or CR<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, and B represents N or CR<SP POS="POST">3</SP>. R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an allyl group.
