<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change color scheme of an image and output an eye-friendly image. <P>SOLUTION: An image output device is a projection apparatus 100 that projects a predetermined image from a projection lens 12 based on the input image data that is output from an external device. The image output device includes a controller 39 that performs differential calculation based on the image data, extracts the contour of the image, divides the image into predetermined areas by the contour, and changes color scheme of each area so that color difference between adjacent areas becomes a predetermined value or larger.
