<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle-approach notification device which emits an approach notification sound and a back warning sound using one speaker and besides, suppresses reduction in the effect of making a pedestrian recognize the start of moving of an automobile caused by reduction in the pressure of emitted sound. <P>SOLUTION: The output level of a sound emitted from a speaker 3 is monitored by a speaker output level monitoring part 24. On the basis of the monitoring result, an approach notification sound waveform is corrected by an approach notification sound waveform generation part 21a, and a back warning sound waveform is corrected by an approach notification sound back warning sound waveform generation part 21b. Specifically, correction is performed to change the approach notification sound waveform, the sound pressure of the back warning sound, and the phase of the back warning sound. Thus, the approach notification sound and the back warning sound can be controlled in such a way that the sound pressure level is equal to or exceeds a predetermined threshold value at which it can be supposed that the pedestrian present near the rear of the vehicle surely hears the sound, and a sound is emitted which can be surely heard by the pedestrian present near the rear of vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
