<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device allowing suppression of running cost by saving the amount of use of a sealing agent such as tape paste. <P>SOLUTION: This sealing device is configured to allow a user to select, by a selection means 65, between the case of applying the sealing agent to a nearly whole width range of an application position of the sealing agent about a width direction along an opening side of an envelope 10 and the case of thinning out at least one application range from the whole width range of the application position and applying the sealing agent to the thinned-out range.
