PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed lithium secondary battery including a current interruption mechanism, the battery in which reliability (typically, safety under a wide range of temperature environments) is enhanced when compared with prior art.SOLUTION: There is provided a sealed lithium secondary battery 100 in which an electrode body 80 including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and an electrolyte are housed in a predetermined battery case. The electrolyte contains an aliphatic carboxylic acid ester capable of generating carbon dioxide gas and an aromatic compound capable of generating hydrogen gas when a predetermined battery voltage is exceeded. A current interruption mechanism 30 operating when the pressure in the battery case 50 rises, due to generation of the carbon dioxide gas and/or hydrogen gas, is provided in the battery case 50. |
