<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a recording position from being shifted in accompaniment to diagonal contact in an edge of a medium with an edge guide, in a recording device equipped with a manual feeding guide having the edge guide. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 40 of an inkjet printer 1 executes, a plurality of times before executing recording, a mode of executing a normal/reverse feed operation constituted including an operation (step S104) for feeding the medium to be conveyed along a downstream direction, in order to form, for at least a prescribed period, a state of positioning the medium to be conveyed within a guide area by the edge guide 10b, and an operation (step S105) for feeding the medium to be conveyed along an upstream direction, and consequently the recording is performed in a state where a posture change and the positional shifting of the medium to be conveyed in accompaniment to the diagonal contact in the edge of the medium to be conveyed with the edge guide 10b are already completed.
