A tool 10 for removing undesirable material from footwear, comprising a head 20 with a plurality of claws 40 protruding from the head 20 and arranged in rows. The head also has a handle 30 extending from the first end 21 of the head and which defines a plane 50. The distance between the tips of the claw elements in a first row and the plane 50 is longer than the distance between the tips of the claw elements in a second row and the plane when the second row is closer to the handle than the first row. Preferably, the head 20 curves away from the plane 50. Preferably the closer the claw becomes to the handle, the shorter the length of the claw. The claws may be tapered from root to tip or have a concave side 402 facing the handle. The tool may comprise a stud key 60. |
