1,000,051. Rectifying; control of D.C. motors. CLARKE, CHAPMAN & CO. Ltd. May 6, 1964 [May 17, 1963], No. 19699/63. Headings H2F and H2J. A rectifying circuit, suitable for supplying a D.C. motor, comprises a bridge of siliconcontrolled rectifiers each shunted by a resistor 22 and series combination of resistor 24 and capacitor 26. Several rectifiers may be seriesconnected in each bridge arm, the resistors 22 sharing the reverse voltage to effect protection, and the resistor capacitor combination effecting protection against voltage transients. In a three-phase circuit (Fig. 2, not shown), two three-phase bridges are provided to drive a reversible motor in either sense. Each bridge arm includes a series of protected rectifiers with an additional diode shunted by a resistor at the end. Series chokes 32 are included in the supply to the motor and resistor/capacitor combinations shunt the D.C. A block diagram of a manually or automatically regulated supply (Fig. 3, not shown) is disclosed.
|
