METHOD OF INCREASING THE RANGE OF A SUBCALIBRE SHELL AND SUBCALIBRE SHELLS WITH A LONG RANGE

Range of trajectory shells (13) is increased by utilizing folding or fixed rear guide fins (10) having a radial extent that does not exceed the available space between outside of the shell case and inside of barrel in an artillery piece used for firing the shell, and utilizing folding or fixed front steerable so-called canard fins with aerodynamic bearing surfaces during the terminal part of its trajectory. The rear guide fins and front steerable so-called canard fins together provide the shell. The shells are fired from the respective artillery piece with the help of propulsion mirrors. An independent claim is included for a shell charged with an explosive substance or other active payload.
