The device (100) has a sound classifier (120) connected with a sound signal input (110) for receiving a sound signal and analyzing the sound signal so as to identify sound signal passages within the sound signal. A command signal generator (130) is connected with the sound classifier for producing a command signal. A command output (140) outputs the command signal to a command processing unit (20). The classifier interrupts the output of sound signal over a sound signal output (34) during presence of the condition for a period of the passages.
