The syringe has a coding element and a testing element including six projection parts. A guiding structure (16) includes a determined layer at circumference of a syringe cylinder (2) in response to the coding element and testing element to align the syringe to another guiding structure in a receiver. A dosing device includes a determined layer with respect to an annular sampling unit for scanning a code with scanning elements to be distributed over the circumference of the syringe cylinder. The coding and testing elements are aligned to the scanning element. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a dosing device (2) a method for operating a dosing device.
