The invention relates to a horizontal compressor which reduces the oil content in a gas coolant which is discharged by a gas cover, prevents the noise in an outdoor machine discharging space, and inhibits the pressure loss in coolant compression. The horizontal compressor (50) is provided with a sealed container (1), a compressing mechanism part, a motor part, a suction tube (7), and a discharge tube (13). A separating plate (12) which divides the sealed container is arranged between the motor part and the discharge tube. A side of the separating plate which is opposite to the motor part is provided with a gas cover (16) which is open on the two ends. The upper part of the separating plate is provided with a gas coolant channel hole (12a) which is used for gas coolant circulation compression, and the lower part is provided with a lubricating oil channel hole (12b) which is used for the lubricating oil circulation. The upper side of the gas cover is smaller than the internal diameter (15s) of the sealing container, and the height of the gas cover enables the gas cover to cover the gas coolant channel hole. The gas cover is bent, and the cross section is rectangular. The separating plate and the gas cover form a gas-liquid separating mechanism. |
