In the present invention, there is disclosed an apparatus for gasification of biomass and subsequent purification of synthesis gas, the apparatus comprising a starting material storage bin (1) connected to worm conveyors (3, 4), the outlet of which is connected to a gasification reaction zone (6) in a gasification reactor (2), which is terminated from above by a heat shield (8) with a ceramic lining. The gasification reactor (2) is provided in its lower section with an oxidation medium distributor (5) and in its upper section with a piping (9) for discharge of the generated synthesis gas wherein the gasification reactor (2) is characterized in that the piping for the discharge of the generated synthesis gas is connected to a cyclone (10) having its outlet connected to a combined filter (11) with its outlet connected to one inlet of a gas-air heat exchanger (14). The synthesis gas outlet of the gas-air heat exchanger (14) is connected to a gas-water heat exchanges (15) having its synthesis gas outlet connected to a Venturi washer (16). The Venturi washer (16) outlet is connected to a demister (17) having its outlet connected to a spray absorption column (18). The gas-air heat exchanger (14) second inlet is connected with the outlet of an overpressure system of oxidation medium proportioning, whereby the oxidation medium outlet of the gas-air heat exchanger (14) is connected to the oxidation medium distributor (5).
