A method of restoring a water-damaged vehicle is started by identifying and removing interior and exterior water-damaged components and electrical components which have been submerged, treating said removed components in an ultrasonic bath of water-based cleaning solution (possibly to remove corrosion), drying said water / flood-damaged vehicle body chassis from which said components have been removed in a de-humidifying tent, re-assembling said dried, treated components into said vehicle and performing a bacteria test on part of said reassembled vehicle to validate said drying and restoration. Preferably, ozone is passed through the air ducts to kill bacteria. The treated components may be placed in an oven prior to drying. The bacteria test ideally comprises an ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which can detect bacteria and reveal its presence under UV light. The test may also inspect for mould, fungi and microbes.
|
