<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structural body having a collection layer which can collect particulates in an exhaust gas excellently, and can be used under a high-temperature condition. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structural body includes: a honeycomb base material that has a porous partition comparting two or more cells extending from one end to the other end to be a channel of the exhaust gas; a sealing part located to an open end of a given cell on an exhaust gas inflow side and an open end of a residual cell on an exhaust gas outflow side; and the porous collection layer arranged in membrane on a surface of the partition on a side where an inflow cell having the open end on the exhaust gas inflow side is comparted, wherein the collection layer has aggregate particles consisting of ceramics and a joint bonding the aggregate particles, and the melting point of at least a portion of the joint is higher than the melting point of at least one of the two or more aggregate particles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
