Disclosed is an underwater turbine comprising a casing (3) in which a generator is arranged, and a shaft (5) that connects the generator to a turbine rotor (6). The shaft (5) extends at an angle from the horizontal and projects downward out of the casing through a shaft opening (15) in such a way that water is prevented from penetrating into the casing (3) by a gas volume compressed in the casing (3). At least one insulating element is provided across at least part of the inner surface. |
