The system has an authentication device authenticating an authorized user (U1) by recognizing biometric data of the authorized user. An identifying device identifies new user (U2) to be authorized, where the identifying device is configured for acquiring biometric data of the latter user and transmitting the acquired biometric data toward a biometric data server (13) external to a vehicle (1). A recording unit (17) records the acquired biometric data. An independent claim is also included for an identifying method for a motor vehicle.
