A secondary battery includes at least two electrode assemblies, each electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a separator, and a second electrode plate, a case accommodating the at least two electrode assemblies, electrode terminals electrically connected to the at least two electrode assemblies, a cap plate sealing the case and exposing the electrode terminals to the outside, and at least one insulation member between the at least two electrode assemblies, the insulation member defining a space between the at least two electrode assemblies.

A secondary battery, comprising: at least two electrode assemblies, each electrode assembly including a first electrode plate, a separator, and a second electrode plate, and each of the first and second electrode plates including a coated portion and a non-coating portion; a case accommodating the at least two electrode assemblies; electrode terminals electrically connected to the at least two electrode assemblies; a cap plate sealing the case and exposing the electrode terminals; and at least one insulation member between the coated portions of the at least two electrode assemblies, the insulation member overlapping the coated portions of each of the at least two electrode assemblies and defining a space between the coated portions of the at least two electrode assemblies, wherein: a number of the at least one insulation member is one less than a number of the electrode assemblies, and the insulation member has a rectangular shape with an opening in a center and includes four sides that are connected as one; wherein the insulation member is an adhesive tape.
