PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a catalyst which makes it possible to obtain a catalyst with high heat resistance.SOLUTION: A first step in which noble metal salt and reductant are made to coexist on the surface of a catalyst carrier, and a second step in which the reductant is used for a reduction reaction from the noble metal salt to noble metal, and noble metal particles are deposited on the catalyst carrier surface, are sequentially conducted to produce a catalyst.
