PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system that can easily start or end an application software required for use as a vehicle key.SOLUTION: When a first portable terminal is maintained in a sleep state, the situation where a second portable terminal has been validated triggers automatic display of an end confirmation screen of an application on a display of the first portable terminal (S111-S118). When an end operation of the application is performed on the end confirmation screen (S119), the application is automatically ended (S120). The situation where a validated sub-key has been stored in an on-vehicle device triggers automatic display of a start confirmation screen of the application on the display of the first portable terminal. When a start operation of the application is performed on the start confirmation screen, the application is automatically started. When the application is ended or started, an operation for releasing the sleep state of the first portable terminal is unnecessary. |
