摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which enables the enhancement of the output characteristics and cycle characteristics of lithium ion secondary batteries.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries comprises the steps of: producing a mixed slurry by preparing a slurry including complex hydroxide particles, of which the average particle diameter is in a range of 3.0-7.0 μm, and [(d90-d10)/MV] is 0.55 or less, adding a lithium compound to the slurry, and then wet-mixing the slurry; producing powder mixture by drying the mixed slurry; baking the powder mixture under a predetermined condition; and rinsing the resultant powder mixture by water, thereby producing a positive electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which comprises particles of hexagonal crystal based lithium complex oxide expressed by the general formula, LiNiCoMnMOand having a layer structure, and of which the average particle diameter is in a range of 3-8 μm, [(d90-d10)/MV] is 0.60 or less, and [d90/MV] is 1.300 or less.
