PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure member having high performance (shear, bending and torsional rigidity, and shock characteristics) of a vehicle width member, a longitudinal member, etc. made of high tensile steel plate of 390 MPa or more having an outward flange which continues to a range over a ridge part on an edge part in the longitudinal direction and groove bottom parts and vertical wall parts on both sides of the ridge part.SOLUTION: A structure member 15 for a vehicle body has a cross-sectional shape of substantially groove shape at least provided with a groove bottom part 15a, a ridge part 15b and a vertical wall part 15c, is provided with an outward flange 16 which continues to a range over all of a ridge part 15b and at least a part of each of groove bottom part 15a and a vertical wall part 15c on both sides of the ridge part, is arranged toward vehicle width direction or longitudinal direction of an automobile vehicle body, and is made of high tensile steel plate having a tensile strength of 390 MPa or more. |
