<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow detection of double feeding of paper with sure, regardless of kind of paper or the like.SOLUTION: There are provided a paper feed tray which houses paper, a paper transportation part which transports the paper that is fed from the paper feed tray, a double feed detection part which detects double feeding of the paper transported by the paper transportation part, and a control part which controls the transportation and detection. The control part, upon receiving detection result of the double feeding detection part, performs detection of double feeding by switching among a plurality of detection methods for the detection result. By this, double feeding is detected even with a paper with which double feeding cannot be detected by a normal double feeding determination, to stop transportation as quick as possible, for preventing wasteful transportation of paper. Thus, SC(service man call) caused by overloading of a paper transportation motor or the like is prevented, allowing recovery.</p> |
