PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slurry state coating material capable of further enhancing integration of glass single fibers with a coating material and dispersing the glass single fibers having agglutination and entanglement substantially excluded between the single fibers into the coating material in order to further improve reinforcement function by a coating film.SOLUTION: A method for preparing a slurry state coating material comprises: scraping a glass single fiber bundle by a first rotor 18 rotated at a low speed and including the row of protrusions 18-2B in an axial direction and a rotation direction from a glass single fiber lump in which a spinning fiber size is removed; substantially and completely opening the scraped glass single fiber bundle f one by one by a second rotor 20 rotated at a high speed and having the row of protrusions 20-2B in an axial direction and a rotation direction to obtain a glass single fiber flow F oriented to a coating material liquid surface P; catching glass single fibers on a coating material liquid surface by the adhesiveness of a coating material; and dispersing the glass single fibers in the coating material by mixing.
