PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a heat crack of a sensor element.SOLUTION: An exhaust gas sensor 1 projects from a wall surface of an exhaust passage, and includes a sensor element and a cover 5 for covering the sensor element. The cover 5 includes: a cylindrical circumferential wall section 73 having a plurality of gas continuity holes 71a-71d, and 72a-72d; and an end wall section 75 of a tip of the cylindrical circumferential wall section 73. The gas continuity holes 71a-71d, and 72a-72d are formed on the upstream side and downstream side, and on the side flow side of the exhaust gas flow direction in the cylindrical circumferential wall section 73, respectively. The inner diameter d1 of the gas continuity holes 71a and 72a on the upstream side of the exhaust gas flow direction is set shorter than the inner diameter d2 of the gas continuity holes 71b and 72b on the side flow side of the exhaust gas flow direction. |
