<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device and a driving support method capable of enhancing energy regeneration efficiency of a vehicle by properly decelerating the speed of the vehicle when the vehicle reaches a target position.SOLUTION: A driving support unit 35 includes: a weight estimation unit 38 for estimating weight of a vehicle while the vehicle is running; a support element calculation unit 37 for calculating at least one support element, by using the estimation value of the weight estimation unit 38, out of the time at which guiding of accelerator off of the vehicle starts, the time at which imparting of a regeneration control force with respect to the vehicle starts and the time at which deceleration of the vehicle is made to increase at the regeneration control time of the vehicle, as a support element for enhancing the regeneration energy efficiency of the vehicle by decelerating the speed of the vehicle to a target speed when the vehicle reaches a target position before a vehicle stop position by a predetermined distance at the regeneration control time of the vehicle; and a support control unit 42 for performing driving support of the vehicle based on the support element calculated by the support element calculation unit 37.</p> |
