PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of, when driving assist drive wheels by an air motor, reducing a load on an air compressor which compresses air to be supplied to the air motor.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises: an exhaust duct 13 in which exhaust gas flows from an engine 11 for driving drive wheels (first right and left rear wheels) RL1, RR1 of a vehicle (truck) T; a primary air tank 23 storing air which is sucked in a compressor 22 for compressing the air to be supplied to an air motor 21 for driving assist drive wheels (right and left front wheels) FL, FR; and a communication duct 28 providing communication between the primary air tank 23 and the exhaust duct 13. By a flow passage control valve 30 arranged between the exhaust duct 13 and the communication duct 28, the exhaust duct 13 is shut off from the communication duct 28 when the engine 11 drives in a fuel injection state, and the exhaust duct 13 and the communication duct 28 are brought into communication with each other when the engine 11 operates in a no-fuel injection state.
