<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-wheel motor drive unit that prevents a temperature of lubricating oil within an oil tank 41 from reaching a flow-point or lower even when left for a long time in a cold environment in the stopped state.SOLUTION: An in-wheel motor drive unit includes: a motor portion 10 for generating driving force within a casing 11; and a wheel hub 30 for transmitting rotation of the motor portion 10 to a wheel via a deceleration section 20. The casing 11 includes: a lubricating oil circuit for circulation in the motor portion 10 and the deceleration section 20; and an oil tank 41. Since the oil tank 41 has a heat insulating structure, heat retaining properties are enhanced. Even if the unit is left for a long time in a cold environment in the stopped state, this structure prevents lubricating oil accumulated in the oil tank 41 from reaching a flow-point or lower, and at start, the lubricating oil within the oil tank 41 enables normal lubrication.</p> |
