PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize transmission of driving force with another member for a long time.SOLUTION: A pressure roll 104 includes a covering section 106 for covering a core metal 105, and an expansion section 110 having a larger dynamic friction coefficient than the covering section 106 and exposed at both ends of the covering part 106. When not heated, the expansion section 110 is not in contact with a fixing belt 102, thereby preventing deterioration due to a contact with the fixing belt 102 for a long time. When the fixing belt 102 and the pressure roll 104 are heated by a halogen heater 109, the expansion section 110 expands to be brought into contact with the fixing belt 102. The fixing belt 102 receives driving force transmitted from the pressure roll 104 by means of frictional force due to a contact with the expansion section 110. The transmission of the driving force between the fixing belt 102 and the pressure roll 104 can be stabilized for a long time. |
