PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short path detection method and a short path detection apparatus for a reaction vessel which can detect a short path with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A short path detection method comprises adding a tracer to a reaction vessel 1, measuring, in time series, the tracer concentration C of the reaction mixture flowing out from the reaction vessel 1, determining an effective volume Ve of the reaction vessel 1 from the time series data of the tracer concentration C, assuming the flow of a fluid in the reaction vessel 1 as a perfect mixture flow, and determining a case where the effective volume Ve is smaller than a volume threshold value Vt as a short path. Since a short path is detected with the effective volume Ve of the reaction vessel 1 as the parameter, a short path is detectable with high accuracy. |
