PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variant L-lysine &egr;-oxidase, L-lysine determination methods using the variant oxidase, and kits for L-lysine determination comprising the variant oxidase, where the variant oxidase has an extremely high substrate specificity to L-lysine to enable highly accurate L-lysine determination in a sample containing a large amount of foreign substances, and the variant can be expressed in ordinary Escherichia coli and effectively produced, and to provide a gene of the variant L-lysine &egr;-oxidase enabling effective production of the variant L-lysine &egr;-oxidase of the invention, a gene conjugate of the gene of the variant L-lysine &egr;-oxidase and a gene of antibiotic-resistance, a vector comprising the gene or the gene conjugate, and a transformant transformed with the vector.SOLUTION: The variant L-lysine &egr;-oxidase of the invention has a specified amino acid sequence and is characterized by an extremely high substrate specificity to L-lysine. |
