The present invention relates to a composition containing solvent fractions of Phaeodactylum tricornutum, fine algae, as an active ingredient for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases. The solvent fractions of the present invention have the activity for inhibiting nitrogen oxides (NO) production, and inhibiting the expression of cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2) for producing prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), thereby showing the effect of preventing or treating inflammatory diseases. Furthermore, the solvent fractions have no cytotoxicity, thereby being able to be usefully used for medicine, health functional food or functional feeds for preventing, treating or alleviating inflammatory diseases. |
