<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of suppressing the rotation failure of a fixing belt caused by the thermal deterioration and abrasion of a surface layer provided on the surface of a nip forming member and having slidability and to provide an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device 20 includes a rotatable endless fixing belt 21, a contact member 122 coming into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the fixing belt, a nip forming member 24 arranged on the inner peripheral side of the fixing belt and coming into contact with the contact member through the fixing belt, to form a nip part, and heating means 23 for heating the fixing belt and allows a recording material to pass through the nip part, to fix an image to the recording material. In the fixing device, a surface layer 24a having slidability is provided on the surface opposite to the fixing belt of the nip forming member. The surface layer has a heat resistance of 300[°C] or more and has a thickness of 10[μm] or more.</p> |
